Pioneer Foods manufactures a range of wheat-based pasta products to cater for ever-changing dietary preferences. This includes South Africa's first white maize flour pasta. Using only the finest local and imported ingredients, its pastas are known for their taste and quality.

In 2003 a group of 35 Swartland Farmers played with the idea of supplying their own wheat to their own Milling Company, and to manufacture flour to the local market. These thoughts soon became a reality and in 2005 the Company was born - at that stage the Company was known as Oude Tol Meulens - named after the milling equipment that was bought over from the original Stone Mill that was used in the 1960's near Tulbagh . A Roller Mill and a Stone Mill was erected in Riebeek West.
